Downstairs Floor
Back to Inside Tour

The downstairs floor is designed to be it's own suite.  We felt that if more than one family was visiting the cabin, that they should have the choice between sharing the middle floor or having their own place.  Thus, downstairs has it's own bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and a living room.  Although the downstairs isn't as fancy as the main floors, it is comfortable and will give you your own space.

The downstairs bedroom is a nice quiet space.  There is a full size bed in the center, a bunk bed on one wall, a dresser, a chest filled with blankets, and a television.  This is perfect for one person to getaway, or a family to enjoy each others company.

The living room area is setup as a family room and play area for the kids.  There are a couple of couches to sit around, a basic entertainment center to watch TV or videos, and it's own woodstove.  It's a comfortable space that can be used simply to hang out and relax.  It also has one wall of windows that looks out at the woods, a small grass yard (where we periodically see deer), and the full canyon view.  The downstairs has it's own exits/entrances allowing you to come and go as you please.

This living room is also where we stock a selection of vhs tapes that range from premiere movies to a huge selection of kids tapes.  We also have tons of board games, puzzles, and toys in this area.  We and other visitors have often used this area as a playroom for the kids, so the adults can have some peace and quiet upstairs while the kids have their own space to play.

The downstairs also has a fully stocked kitchen area with an array of basic appliances and amenities.  Most people use the upstairs kitchen, but downstairs is equipped for basic needs.

Also, in the downstairs area, we have a small work room which is where we keep basic tools and equipment.  So, if you are looking for a screwdriver, this is where you'll find it.  The room also houses most of the major electric panels for the cabin.  And, downstairs there is also a door outside to under one of the decks where we have a work space for outdoor carpentry projects.
